2000 – The Beginning
Founding of Instant Home
Instant Home was founded with a clear mission: to provide stylish, good quality, affordable furniture solutions for those in need of short-term or long-term rentals. Armed with a passion for aesthetics and functionality, we began offering flexible rental agreements to meet the growing demand for furniture rental.
2002 – Expanding Our Reach
First Major Expansion
Within two years, Instant Home began to branch out reaching new customers across the UK. We purchased our first liveried lorry and began to recruit staff to bring all services in-house. Our diverse range of furniture options quickly gained attention, helping us to establish a loyal customer base.
2005 – Innovating with Technology
Website Launch
As the internet revolutionised retail, Instant Home launched an enhanced website, providing customers with the convenience of browsing and selecting furniture from the comfort of their homes. This was invaluable for our international clients, and we were proud to be the first online furniture rental shop in the UK.
This move marked the beginning of our commitment to integrating technology into our services.
2015 – The start of our expansion
Our own relocation!
We relocated to a custom-built warehouse nestled in the picturesque Cambridgeshire countryside. This new facility was designed to meet our specific needs, providing us with ample space for our operations and inventory. Adjacent to the warehouse, we also occupied a small temporary office, which, while functional, tended to get quite chilly during the winter months! Despite the cold, the office served as a vital hub for our team.
2016 – Second Warehouse
Further Expansion
Work started on a second warehouse and a new state-of-the-art office to enhance customer service. The result doubled our capacity to 10,400 sq ft of space with 4 loading bays!
2017 – Sofia
Sponsorship of Cambridgeshire’s brightest new squash star
Sofia was just 15-years-old when we started our sponsorship. She was already racking up trophies, including winning a major county competition. Instant Home was proud to begin our journey of support to such an incredible talent.

2024 – Investing in Tomorrow’s Talent!
We were proud to welcome our 8th apprentice, continuing our long-standing commitment to skills-based education. These young individuals have been invaluable to our team, gaining real-world experience and building the confidence to shape their future careers.
2025 – Celebrating 25 Years of Excellence
A Silver Jubilee
This year, we celebrate our 25th anniversary! We honour our incredible team, loyal customers, and partners who have been a part of our journey. Our anniversary also marks the launch of several exciting new pieces that reflect current trends in interior design, ensuring we continue to inspire fresh living spaces.
